Willem VS

2020: GR GG Groene Gordel Brussel;
2020/21: GRP 127: Tour du Brabant Wallon;
2022/23: GR412: Le sentier des terrils;

2024 Rome
2024 Ijsland

2020: Brussel-Parijs (5 ritten, + 3 plaatselijk)
2021: Adinkerke - Cherbourg - 11 ritten - 867 km - 7290 hm
2022: Compostella vanuit St Pandelon - 30 ritten - 2210 km - 29220 hm
2023: Fietsen rond het kanaal - 30 ritten - 2339 km - 19930 hm
2023: De Groene valleien -16 ritten -1198 km -9630 hm
2024: Via Francigena: 36 ritten - 2652 km - 23640 hm

Sunday club ride. It wasn't too fast, but the course was tough. Getting to know the Bruine Put from the Brabantse Pijl. A climb where you can really go all out. 😉

Some overlap with my Tuesday ride.

Noordrand Brussel + rondje Brussels Airport

Nice, smooth ride along the northern edge of Brussels + an interesting loop around Brussels Airport. Admittedly, a full 3 hours in the rain. With the sand still lying on the small roads from the last thunderstorm, bike and rider got as dirty as in winter.

Another unexpected, fun ride with many photogenic spots. But the persistent rain kept the camera in the back pocket. Another loop to come back again.

Also interesting is the Salangaan bridge, where cyclists have to use the lift (the stairs are really steep). On the Salangaan bridge you have a nice view

Nice tour on a loop suggested by Strava.

But... this time I forgot the camera 🙈🙈🙈.

Targeted endurance training with the brakes on. 😉

Komoten on the road bike... clearly having trouble with the switch.

Just for the archives.

The campsite had to be vacated by 1:00 PM. At 9:00 AM I had my probably last full Irish Breakfast.

I feared I would have to wander around like a homeless person, as the ferry doesn't leave until 3:30 AM tomorrow.

But first I found Lily’s Café & Pizzeria and here I had for lunch

IR38 New Ross - Tagoat

A quiet drive through the southeast of Wexford: from mural-rich New Ross past the Barrow, through open farmland and small villages towards the coast. The landscape becomes increasingly flat and lighter, until you feel the wide bays and the salty air of Rosslare.

Description:

You depart between the murals of New Ross and first follow the river zone, where art, history and water intersect. Then you cycle through an open, rolling inland with quiet roads, farms and long straights. As you approach Rosslare, the landscape changes: more light, more wind, more coastal

IR37 Rathdrum - New Ross

A last tough ride, but the climbs are a maximum of 200 m high.

It climbs right from the start. The village of Rathdrum is higher than the campsite. A little further it goes to Avondale House, here they have built a nice tree path. The rest of the ride is on local roads. Pretty nice, without

IR36 Leinster (Dublin) - Rathdrum

R36 runs through County Dublin and County Wicklow, from the southern edge of the capital into the highlands via Glenasmole and the Bohernabreena reservoirs, over the Old Military Road and Sally Gap, and then via Glenmacnass and the Avonmore Valley to Rathdrum.

After barely 7 km I reach Kiltipper park
