Vom Schieferbergsmuseum Lehesten zum Altvaterturm und über den Rennsteig.
Wir hatten mit mehr Schatten auf der Wanderung gerechnet. Die Wälder unterwegs sind größtenteils abgestorben bzw abgeholzt. Ein Lichtblick ist, dass sich auf den Kahlflächen langsam wieder neuer Wald entwickelt.

Over the Seenweg it goes past the Dürrenwaid slate dump.

At 22 degrees in the shade, I started this morning at 6:30 am from Brunnenplatz in Eckfeld.
Because of the expected temperatures, I did the circular hike counter-clockwise. This way, I had the asphalted and open section right at the beginning.
