Rainham to Grays
This is far from the most beautiful stretch of the Thames estuary, but it was a lot more beautiful on a sunny Summer day than the windy February I walked it before.
The early part of the section, on the LOOP, has been spruced up with new walkways and wild…

London LOOP | Section 24 | Rainham to Purfleet (Extended to Grays)
This group hike was a special one, marking the completion of the final section of the London LOOP for one of our friends. Starting in Rainham, we walked through Rainham Marshes and on to Purfleet, where the LOOP officially came to an end before we continued along the Thames riverside…

London LOOP 24: Rainham to Purfleet, and continued onto Grays
Final section of the London LOOP today, from Rainham to Purfleet. From leaving Rainham station, some light industrial walking until we get to the bank of the Thames Estuary. We walk between the estuary and the former Rainham Landfill, now disused and being rewilded as a nature reserve and future…

Was reading up on the pilot Mohinder Singh Pujji whose statue we passed. It's quite a life.

Thames Path, Putney Common and Barnes Common walk
Lovely walk I've done multiple times, and makes a good 5 mile run as well (though when running I skirt around the old cemetery due to trip hazards).
Something is in bloom that is releasing pollen that hits my allergies, because I started sneezing about half way through the walk.

@Deleted User at the weekend hadn't rained for ages, so bone dry. The last few days has been rainy, so would be muddy.

London LOOP sections 22 and 23
Harold Wood to Rainham via Hornchurch. More train issues getting out there, but not as bad as last time. Very hot today, lots of water and suncream.
Harold Wood to Hornchurch was okay, but felt very suburban. Like walking through some decent enough local parks, but nothing like some other…

Also, think this might be the only section of the LOOP where I didn't see a horse.

Cycled out to see the new Banksy
A statue of a man carrying a flag, which has covered his face so he doesn't realise he is about to step off the edge. Waterloo Place off Pall Mall.

Castelnau and Thames Path run
Lovely sunny day. All these clear skies recently have been great, but looking forward to some rain to clear away the pollen. Too much stopping to sneeze and cough recently.

London LOOP sections 20 and 21: Chigwell to Harold Wood via Havering-atte-Bower
Late start as I had no luck with transport this morning - track fire, signal failures and missed connection. Luckily the days are long enough even starting at noon, had lots of time.
Lots of farm fields, some nice forests, of course golf club and horses. Surprised more people weren't…

@Greg Wesson Another good section of the LOOP. I feel like you and @Mustafa should have done this together...

Ride along the Vistula River on rental bike
A lovely route. Today was sunny but very windy, and I struggled a few times moving along on the heavy, 3 gear bike. As well the solid basket on the handlebars would often catch the wind and push the bike to the side.
But it was still a nice ride…

Krakow walking tour: Kazimierz and the Jewish Ghetto
A walk around Kazimierz and the Jewish Ghetto. Kazimierz is the old Jewish quarter, which was cleared of Jews in 1940. However both Jewish and non-Jewish life has returned. Starting at the old Synagogue, I pass multiple active synagogues, intermixed with housing, restaurants and bars.
Crossing the river via an…

River Shuttle
The hike began at New Eltham Station, where the first stretch felt quite built up and suburban. But once we joined the River Shuttle, the route quickly became greener, quieter, and far more scenic than expected.
One of the early highlights was passing Charlton Athletic Training Ground, before reaching the…

River Shuttle
Following the River Shuttle from Eltham to Bromley. A very suburban route with occasional highlights, such as Avery Hill Winter Garden, Bexley Woods, and Hall Place. A variable Spring day, sometimes sunny, and one hail storm right as we stopped for lunch. Walked this with the group which made it…
