This is a "Big" Ride, over 3,000ft of climbing and huge contrast between the long tarmac roads, smooth gravel sections and the long, steep & rough, tech sections over the Mam Tor area. Some of the best/classic/challenging riding the Peaks has to offer.
Thanks to @Ianj for this "not recommended" route, certainly Marmite with the amount of tarmac and steep climbs, there is a section through very long grass which would leave your legs & feet soaked if it was wet. Would be bleak on a miserable wet day, but overcast & warm was OK, too much sun would be uncomfortable.
From my chosen Start/Finish point, I was left with the memory of a brilliant long and technical descent from the back of Mam Tor above Castleton, over Lord's Seat (highest point on Rushup Edge) and South Head back down to Chapel-en-le Frith.
