Levada do Norte
This was our last and my favourite walk. We started at Boa Morte and walked along the Levada do Norte. This levada has spectacular views all the way along and it is also quiet and does not feel like a tourist attraction.
The path wanders through pretty villages and agricultural…

The Levada do Furado
We had a transfer to Ribeiro Frio. This levada was much quieter and was just as pretty with interesting rock formations and caves. Beautiful, verdant forests. At the end of the walk we dropped down to Santo de Serra where our next hotel was going to be. Really enjoyed this…

The Caldeirao Verde Levada to Ilha
We had a transfer from our hotel to Parque das Queimadas. The road was very narrow leading to the car park. We were advised to get there early as it gets extremely busy along the levada. It certainly was. The levada path was very narrow in places and many people…

Quinta do Furao hotel to the bay of Calhau
This was our first walk in Madeira. It should have been a walk from our hotel (which was lovely) to Sao Jorge. However, it was quite slippery underfoot heading down to the bay and it took longer than expected. So we decided to forget climbing up to Sao Jorge and…

Started at Ambleside and it's a gentle climb up to Loughrigg Fell. A really nice walk then down to Grasmere and into Tweedies Bar. Caught the bus back to the start.

Climbed this mountain a few times but this time it was to say goodbye as it's now too difficult for us. Started at Swirl's car park, the way up is stepped for most of the way. Very blustry at the top so sat in the shelter to eat our butties. It was a Saturday, so very popular. We walked back down to

Took this walk from "Secret walks in London" book when we were housesitting for our daughter. It was a really interesting walk with lots of history from the book. We walked past the old Spillers factory, walked closely to the Thames Barrier, past the Tate and Lyle factory, walked under the Woolwich tunnel

We started walking from Selsley which is a little off route, through a wood, where a deer raced by us. There was much woodland walking up and down steeply.
Eventually we got to Coaly Peak where we saw hang gliders and had a steep climb up to Cam Long Down. At this point, we realised that we would not

Today we walked mainly through woodland onto Cooper's Hill where the cheese rolling takes place. The route takes you across a golf course at Painswick Beacon.

This day we were leaving Cheltenham and our bags were collected by the Volunteer Inn. We caught the no. 51 bus to Seven Springs. Then, climbed up the hill to the escarpment at Hartley Hill, then onto Leckhampton escarpment and onto Crickley Hill.
Again, many beautiful views and the area was busier. we

We walked the Cotswold Way in 2015 so decided to do the middle part of the route again, as last time it rained constantly. We caught the bus to Cleeve Hill from Cheltenham and picked up the route near the top of Cleeve Hill by the Rising Sun pub. We soon had lovely views across Cheltenham race course

We did this walk as we were staying in a holiday home in Lakeside Spa village. We needed a code to get out of the village onto the Thames Path, which was dried up close to the source. Fairly easy flat walk to Ashton Keynes (very pretty), then onwards it soon became overgrown until we reached the Spine

Walked around the park at Keswick and got onto the old railway line. At Travis Perkins, we got off this path and started to climb the road, up to the Stone Circle. Walked towards Walla Crag where there is a seat for lunch overlooking Cat Bells and Derwent Water, then down through the woods towards Derwent
