With the wonderful weather, this was a must on this day. The path looks more difficult than it is. Only in the upper section is there an approximately 150 m long rope traverse with quite exposed passages.
I needed 30 minutes for the ascent.
The panoramic view of the Alps and the Alpine foothills with Hopfensee

With the Breitenbergbahn and Hochalpbahn, we covered the greatest altitude difference to the Bad Kissinger Hütte on that day. With the hot temperatures, that was our preference. The remaining 300 meters of altitude to overcome were enough for the day.

In reality, only the area around the Leaning Tower is really worth seeing. Walking the city wall replaces climbing the tower and is also cheaper. Not as nice as the neighboring city of Lucca.

Beautiful city with narrow streets, numerous boutiques and a great food scene.
The city wall is completely preserved, walkable and encloses the old town for a length of 4 km.

Grandiose hike, which cannot be described in a few sentences. Great villages are passed and you have fantastic views.

It's not yet the season, so the parking lot was still closed and we had to park on the roadside. However, due to the low turnout, that was no problem. During the season, it looks different here, with sun loungers lined up on the beach. The water was still a bit too cool for me at this time of year. But

At this time of year, swimming is already possible here, as the beach is protected in a bay, slopes gently and therefore the water is warmer than at most other beaches.
Cavoli is one of the most beautiful beaches on the island.

Old, over 2000-year-old mountain village with steep stairs and alleys at the foot of Monte Capanno. I actually wanted to climb it and descend by cable car, but it is currently out of operation.
There is also a castle, which costs €7 to enter. But nothing special and for that money, a view photo is not worth it.

Beautiful coastal hike from our magnificent hotel to Patresi and back.
First, it goes down the steep village street to the beach of Sant'Andrea - one of the top beaches on Elba. Unfortunately, construction work is currently taking place there, but it will probably be finished by the start of the season

According to the travel guide, you should allow several hours. I didn't like it, only the view from Forte Fortone was fantastic.
I experienced the peak of Tuscan impudence for a beer in a bistro by the harbor, €12 for a 0.5-liter bottle. Oh well, you don't have to drink it.

Great natural pools with free admission. Water temperature 37.5 degrees all year round. To my knowledge, the only hot spring in Tuscany where you can shower afterwards to remove the rotten smell of sulfur from your body.

Second stop on the way to the Sarurnia Hot Springs. You should definitely plan a stop here and bring some time with you. The place is fantastic and not as crowded as many other hotspots here.
Dreamlike alleys, souvenir shops and some eateries with regional dishes. We tried the wild boar with olives, cranberries

On the way to the Saturnia hot springs lies this picturesque village amidst forests. Everything around is lush green. An idyll of peace and seclusion, ideal for stretching your legs after a long drive.

Beautiful tour with moderate descents and ascents. The panoramic trail first leads downhill through the forest and across a beautiful alpine pasture before a rocky ascent follows.
If you stay overnight at the Bad Kissinger Hütte, as we did, and then go back, it's an appealing day tour.
