Today is the summer solstice and it's supposed to get hot. We therefore set off at 8 am today and chose a route where you can ride mostly in the shade. It was even pleasantly cool in sections, for example in the Wirtatobel or on the ride up to Buch.

Herbert wanted to go to the southernmost point of Germany and that's where we went today. Up to the Hofhütte Alpe Haldenwang (unattended) there is a long steep climb, but it is manageable. Southeast of Bielefeld, near Horn-Bad Meinberg in the Teutoburg Forest, there are the so-called Externsteine, a high rock formation & medieval cult site, which I wanted to see on my way to my parents. Quite nice and the adjacent forest is beautifully diverse.
