Radfahren ist meine Leidenschaft. Für über 50 Jahren habe ich meine erstes Fahrrad bekommen. Seit dieser Zeit bin ich mit dem Zweirad unterwegs. Ich habe viele Länder mit dem Rad bereist, bin viele Jahre aktiv Rennen in ganz unterschiedlichen Kategorien gefahren. Zuerst mit dem Rennrad in den späten 70er Jahren. Von 81 bis 89 war ich Motocrosser und habe in dieser Zeit das Bike als Trainingsgerät benutzt. Verltzungsbedingt gab ich den Motorsport auf und war bei den Anfänger der MTB-Szene dabei. Parallel dazu war ich mehrmals im Jahr bei triathlons am Start. 1989 eröffnete ich dazu noch ein Radsport-Geschäft, dass bis heute meinen Lebensunterhalt sichert. Inzwischen mit 5 Angestellten und mehrmals vergrößerten Geschäftsräumen. Seit 1990 bin ich auch lizensierten Trainer beim RSV-Garching. 2001 nahm ich zum ersten mal bei einem 24h Rennen teil. Seit dem bestreite ich immer wieder sehr lange Trainingsfahrten und starte von Zeit zu Zeit bei langen Marathons oder 24h Veranstaltungen. Die Teilnahme bei den Ultras verbinde ich seit dieser Zeit bin Spendenaktionen für Kinder und so kam es, dass ich 2012 mit einigen Gleichgesinnten den mildtätigen Förderverein radeln und helfen e.V. gegründet habe, deren Vorsitzender ich bin. Mit verschiedenen Veranstaltungen, Teilnahme bei Rennen und Extremtouren konnten wir soviel Aufmerksamkeit gewinnen und mit vielen tausend Spenderinnen und Spendern bereits 1/2 Million EURO einsammeln und an Hilfseinrichtungen und Einzelpersonen weiterreichen. Und so ist auch heute noch jede Trainingsfahrt eine kleine Spendenaktion, nach dem Motto: Jeder Kilometer zählt!
