We returned the same way that we ascended. There are two alternatives - 1. drop down from Whin Rigg on the south side and follow the road back to Wasdale Head (we thought this was too long and we dont like road walking)
2. Drop down on ghe south side of Whin Rigg and take the lakeside "path" beneath
