A big day on the big bike! Early season meant some very fresh snow and slow, difficult riding, but this stunning forest is not a place to rush through. Moose tracks everywhere and glittering snow on the ancient forest - simply stunning!

We hosted our first ever Run Healing Workshop in Ambleside! It was an incredible day with trail running, yoga (my first class!), breathing/meditation, and sharing and working towards healing relationships with food and exercise. After the ferry we decided to make the first climb, and then have a good sleep outside in order to enjoy this final island in daylight. Feeling like we almost made it!

Woke up with my legs really remembering that the previous day had almost 5000m of climbing and only 2 hours sleep! It was a very hard ride for me, but knew if we could make the end of this route by afternoon we make the only ferry onwards to the last island on the course. Go go go!

The second island in the race greeted us with brutal headwinds after our very short ferry ride / rest from the last island. The views along the coast were truly spectacular which helped us feel awake! This island was a hard time trial to make the evening ferry at 20:00 in order to stay on pace. No time for rest!
