The ferry was at 10.00 and the check in closed at 9.00, so I left at 7.00. Ordered a baguette last night simplified that up and away. Lovely temperature but warm, no one around being Saturday. Got to De Panne by 11:15ish and rode to Dunkirk, no wind just very humid. Sweat dripping off the end of my nose. It was 36C in the shade when I got a coffee. Left by 8.00 as it was supposed to be 26C but didn’t happen until 5 ish. Chilly, wind and rain shower. The ride was easy but when you get into the city either everyone knowing where they are going, you can be in the way. It got busy when you get closer to the centre and the cycle path have been added

As it was wet in the windy most of the day I came across kids screaming. In the distance I saw this roller coaster made of wood. Not sure why they were screaming, it was moving fast and the structure stable. A lot of the cycle path was tree lined which made it pleasant riding but it was chilly never

Lots of small slopes to ride but it was the head wind again, 12 mph with no let up. So it was another slow ride with continuous pedalling. It was nice countryside and as you cross over a bridge you enter Netherlands everything changes, houses, road layout for bikes and food. Staying at the old orphanage

58miles to Hamm and it was cold 12C to start with and windy so I decided to catch train. This is a where a naive mistake happened, got to Hamm got trailer off, went to get bike doors closed. Me moving awaynon the train, trailer on platform. Got to next station they phone up for me and I got train back
