We were out and about on the Rennsteig again. Great and scenic tour through green Thuringia! On the Schneekopf, which is 978m high, there are two towers, one of which can be climbed with 126 steps. Once at the top, you are at 1111m above sea level and have a super great view all around!

On the way to the Thuringian Forest, we made a detour to Bad Staffelstein in the Lichtenfels district of Upper Franconia. A short but beautiful tour led us through the Tiefenthalschlucht up to the Hohlen Stein, a huge boulder with three "open doors". An impressive rock formation!

We did the third stage of the Goldsteig today in somewhat capricious weather. It went from Friedenfels to the Oberpfalzturm and the Weißenstein castle ruins. Great hike very close by, which you can repeat again and again!
