Our last full day on the Camino, one more push tomorrow and then back to Santander.
Spent the night at villapalatin hostel, a dorm with 8 bunk beds. Always strange sleeping with strangers but all good apart from some noisy neighbours.
There was a rally going through Grado as we set out.

Day 5, the mental endurance element of the walk is kicking in proper now, not taken many notes today as busy keeping going, very noisy neighbours in the hotel last night.
A shorter walk, just over 10 miles (Forgot to turn on Komoot for the first mile 😭).
Straight up into the hills today, was gorgeous

First trip to the Laundrette last night, 2 alcoholics were having an intense discussion, you can never tell in Spain if it's an argument as people seem to speak very emphatically all the time. I got the hell out of there without waiting for the clothes to fully dry. A laundry is a Godsend on the Camino

A cold grey start, spitting rain in Colunga as we left the hotel
Stopped at a local cafe and had a delicious Egg chorizo Pincho and a coffee for breakfast. The coffee got things going finally, and I had to strike whilst the iron was brown. Some beautiful parts of the walk today, especially the rolling

So here we are again, back on the Camino for our second year. Weather was glorious, got up to 23 degrees, but we had set off early. Stopped at a roadside bakers and grabbed fresh croissants, so Spanish. The sounds of mad birdsong and Cowbells, and we are back on the way of St James. Interesting building

Lligwy Beach Ascent to Mynydd Bofadon
Bit of coastal, bit of stock fields, bit of rock. Something for everyone. A few dodgy navigation, ignore the butterfly shaped walk in a field, I got lost, from the styal, look across the field to the farmhouse, and aim to the right where there is a copse.

Abandoned walk to Newborough lighthouse
We set off in the sun, about 4 miles in the wind, snow and hail arrived. We turned back as we were not dressed correctly for the new arctic conditions. The storm passed about half an hour later and we discussed trying for the lighthouse again as the sun shone…

If you get chance, and you don't mind scaling a 5 foot wall to get in and out, you should visit this site, the old house is fascinating, burned down in the 1940s, but you still get the atmosphere of the faded aristocracy.
