Today the sun was out and I decided to go for another hike through the deep snow - this time in Tyresta national park.
There were still many trails that were mostly untouched since the snow fell, with only one or maybe two sets of footprints, and a lot of deep and heavy snow.
In some other trails the snow had been compacted a bit, making it easier to walk, but overall it was still hard work and slow progress!
But the views were gorgeous! The snow really covers everything and looks ever so soft. It also makes the forest much brighter.
The first few kilometers along an unmarked trail was especially hard work, but after I reached Långsjön I connected to trails that were a bit more popular, which made progress a little easier. I reached the lovely cliffs north of lake Stensjön and had lunch at the top, enjoying the sun and a nice cup of tea.
After lunch I hiked along the trail that leads through old forest fire area. This was especially beautiful! There weren't as many tall trees here to block the snow or the light, so the sun really managed to reach the ground and reflect on the snow.
When I finally made it back to the car I was thoroughly exhausted, but I was very happy with the photos from the hike.
