Really nice town. The tour was a lot of fun. Really nice are the little streets where not necessarily the sights are. Here you can enjoy the narrow paths and the old walls very nice.

February 29, 2024,Malta: Mdina und Rabat
Today there are three sightseeing tours on the program.

Mdina is one of the former capitals of Malta and means “walled city”. The stables located outside were called Rabat, and Rabat is now an independent city. Mdina received its strong fortress walls in the 12th century under Norman rule.

After the impressive visit to the Basilica of St Mary in Mosta, we took a closer look at the old capital Mdina (Silent City) and Rabat. Everything was new and very interesting to us. On the way back, we made a short photo stop at the Dingli Cliffs (south coast of Malta). LG🤗🙋‍♂️🇲🇹

The main excursion today was Mdina and Rabat - Mdina the former capital lies on a rocky plateau and Rabat the suburb is separated by a moat.

The tour took us first to Rabat, here to the Pauluskirche with the grotto and the catacombs where Saint Paul lived after his shipwreck on Malta.

We have a holiday tomorrow, the streets are beautifully decorated, we admired great buildings and took many cool pictures, it was very worth seeing

The catacombs are particularly worth seeing, impressive because the extension can be seen as a bunker from World War II. Fantanella - the Teagarden is highly recommended as a restaurant

Today we explore Rabat and Mdina.

Arriving by bus, we are lucky, the sun is shining.

Horse-drawn carriages are ready for various excursions if we just want to explore the city.

Once the capital of Malta, less than three hundred people live here.

The place became famous as the setting for Game of Thrones.
