    Road cycling

The new 66 Parallel Trail is an 18-mile trail that runs alongside the I-66. It is a pretty straight, flat path that is full of rising, falling, curving swoops, and tunnel-like passages. All this is punctuated with dashes up and down on and off ramps, negotiating wide lanes across bridges, and meandering down new on-street bike lanes. Eleven miles of this shared-use path forms the central core of the route, which runs adjacent to the I-66 from Dunn Loring to Centreville.
