Trail running in Berlin is more than just running – it’s a chance to immerse in the capital’s surprisingly diverse natural beauty. As soon as you leave the road behind, you’ll find yourself on narrow trails or open paths that take you far from the big city hustle and bustle. In this Collection, we’ve put together some of the most beautiful routes that are easy to reach by S-Bahn in a wonderfully simple and sustainable way – just like running itself. The routes are perfect for your next training session or for a relaxed post-work run.
Among them are the obvious classics, including trails in Treptower Park and the Tiergarten, the green lung in the heart of the city. Beneath ancient trees, past historic monuments, you’ll follow winding paths with Brandenburg Gate views and pristine ponds to admire.
If you want to up the vert, we’ll challenge you in the Müggelbergen in the city’s east and the Teufelsberg in the west. Here, you’ll really get the heart going on the surprisingly steep trails. Glistening lakes along the way invite you to cool off.
Outside the city gates, you’ll run beneath open skies through fields or along the historic Wall Path, taking you past corn, rapeseed and sunflowers, munching cows and small bodies of water.
You’re bound to work up a sweat so remember to bring enough fluids and perhaps a change of top for your return journey on the S-Bahn – your fellow passengers will thank you.
